
SALSA COMPETITION RULES AND APPLICATION
Salsa Entry:
To enter, please send an email to Info@OnTapDFW.com with the following info:
- Name
- Team Name
- Phone Number
One email per entry.
Payment will be made at On Tap on the day of the competition. The entry fee is $15 per salsa entered.
Salsa Rules:
Salsa contest is open to anyone. All salsa must be homemade and may be either canned or fresh. All safe food handling and canning processes must be followed. The voters receive a ticket to drop off into their choice of best salsa.
General Competition Rules:
- If you want your salsa to be judged, you MUST check-in and pay your entry fee by 12:00 pm on the day of the competition.
- Single entry or teams are welcome, there is a team maximum of 2 people.
- Contestants may have more than one entry for judging, but it is $15 per entry.
- Submissions must be home cooked/prepared (not store bought).
- Salsas are to be prepared in a sanitary manner.
- Each judge will receive one cup to judge – there are 3 judges.
- Any leftover items will be the property of the contestants.
- Each entry should be marked with the name of your salsa. Nametags will be provided.
- Contestants must provide their own ingredients, equipment, utensils, etc.
- All contestants are responsible for dispensing of their salsa for serving.
Awards:
1st place takes home $100. A People’s Choice award of $50 will be decided by the general public voting. The entry fee is $15 per salsa entered. Contestants may enter more than one type of salsa. Tasting 1PM-3PM. Tabulation will be at 3PM and winners announced!
Salsa Competition Schedule:
Set Up: Set up location will be on a first come basis. Salsa table setups must be outside of On Tap, weather permitting. Bring Tables, chairs, tents, etc. for your area! Salsa must be ready to serve at ONE. NO LATE ENTRIES! You may decorate your table however you feel. You are welcome to promote your business. Please clean up your space at the end of the event.
